How did the Romans celebrate Christmas'? | History Extra
- Q: What was Saturnalia, and how was it celebrated? A: It was the Romans' mid-winter knees up! It was a topsy-turvy holiday of feasting, drinking, singing in the street naked, clapping hands, gambling in public and making noise.

If you've got ideas for 2014 Folk Festival and main Music Festival, please share your thoughts with Garage-rehearsals NorthEast-Recording
We can't wait!
Ok, seems I've been unclear in my idea for the Folk Festival. I grew up on folk festivals where there was no real schedule, stage or amplification and these festivals still run in Newcastleton, Rothbury etc. So i have been offered the site of Arbeia Roman Fort & Museum to try and bring this to South Shields. As per always I have no budget, just a smile, determination and a beautiful location :-) It would be great to get lot's of people involved......
