TWM Archaeology

An archaeological Watching Brief was undertaken by TWM Archaeology on behalf of Northumbrian Water Limited during the insertion of a new water main connection for a development at Shawwell Farm, Corbridge, Northumberland. The trench was positioned across the line of Dere Street Roman Road. A metalled surface probably representing the eastern edge of the Roman Road was recorded within the trench. The water main was laid on top of the surface preserving the remains insitu.
