Field-walking is an evaluation technique based on the collection of artefacts
from a ploughed field. This allows areas of archaeological significance
to be rapidly located and characterised. It often forms part of a wider
landscape survey where the existing ground surface and any surviving earthworks
or historical landscape features are recorded accurately with GPS or Total
Station Theodolite. Our staff have extensive field experience of both
landscape survey and fieldwalking and can produce clear and easily understood
maps and plans using a variety of graphics and GIS packages.
