TWM Archaeology offers an archaeological geophysics service that combines state-of-the-art magnetic gradiometer* equipment with competent professional staff. Competitive and realistic pricing and time scaling has been developed in order to present prospective clients an attractive option that is able to offer both minimal obstruction to any development works and high levels of archaeological prospection. This incorporates the following of optimum standards of best practice, with all possible archaeological features identified and interpreted and the most appropriate further mitigation recommended. All fieldwork staff has been expertly trained in the techniques required for conducting successful and reliable magnetic gradiometer geophysical surveys, whilst the post-processing and interpretation team can demonstrate multiple archaeological specialities, together with countless years of involvement and association in both commercial and research archaeology projects.
* Magnetic gradiometer surveys are physically non-intrusive,
with regard to ground disturbance, and are rather entirely focussed upon
identifying sub-surface features and anomalies of archaeological, geological,
and modern origin. This is achieved through the scanning of topsoil and
subsoil for disturbances in the geomagnetic field which results directly
from variations in magnetic susceptibility of sub-surface features (Bartington
Instruments 2007), with all data logged and processed using appropriate
hardware and software.
