Community Outreach
At Tyne & Wear Museums we believe that everyone should have access to our exhibitions, collections and programmes.
Museums are a great resource for any community group and the possibilities to work with us are endless.
The Outreach Team at Tyne & Wear Museums work with a vast range of groups and are always looking to bring museums to life for different audiences - whether in the museums or outside at a venue to suit the group.
The team is divided up across Tyne & Wear with one assistant outreach officer in each district. We can work with any Tyne & Wear Museums' collection and any Tyne & Wear Museums' venue.
Past projects have included working with:
- looked-after young people,
- young carers,
- culturally diverse communities/BME communities,
- older people,
- residential homes for young and older people,
- women's groups,
- lads and dads groups,
- young mums,
- the probation service,
- youth referral units,
- local history groups,
- disability support groups,
- Deaf community groups,
- homeless people's projects,
- healthy living project groups
... to name a few.
If you are interested in working with us we would love to hear from you.
