Film footage showing one of Discovery Museum's most famous exhibits being moved into the museum in 1994 is now available to view on YouTube.

Turbinia, the first ship to be powered by steam turbines, was moved from Newcastle's Exhibition Park to her new home at Discovery Museum, through the streets of Newcastle.

Crowds of people lined the streets to watch as the ship made her journey. She is on show today at Discovery Museum, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.

On Saturday 18 July, a range of free activities will take place at the museum to celebrate the anniversary, including the unveiling of a new display on the history of the Museum.
