Combine excellence in teaching with enjoyment in learning.

Discovery is the North East's biggest free museum and the gateway to fun and facts about life on Tyneside. Explore Newcastle's past from Romans to present day; Tyneside inventions that changed the World, a fun approach to science and a walk through fashion in the past. There is a wide variety of workshops and activities available to schools as well as facilities to aid visits.

Discovery also houses A Soldier's Life - the collections of 15th 19th The King's Royal Hussars and Northumberland Hussars - which includes displays depicting the Home Front during World War II.

Discovery is an essential part of any study of local history, primary science but we can also provide exciting days out as part of maths, literacy, travel and tourism, and more.

Our dedicated  Schools Online  site is currently being redeveloped for the new school term and will be relaunched shortly. Until then, please contact the venue directly on (0191) 232 6789
