Rivers and Bridges: Discovery

Take part in bridge building activities at and help us create a giant picture of the River Tyne.

10.30am - 12.30pm and 2pm - 4pm

Build you own Tyne Bridge: The Archives at Discovery

Come along to the Archives for a fun and informative workshop where you will be able to find out about the North East's amazing history of building bridges and take part in our challenge to build a new Tyne bridge using knex kits!

Draw inspiration from the past with a unique opportunity to view the original plans and early photographs of the Tyne Bridge. This workshop is free and suitable for families with children aged 7 plus.

These workshops are offered with the kind support of the British Steel Archive Project.
