A talk by the Natural History Society of Northumbria.
You may not be able to judge a book from its cover, but sometimes the covers can be pretty interesting in themselves. The Society’s library includes a wide range of bindings, dating from the 1500s up to the present, some being spectacular and some showing their quality in a more restrained way. The bindings are certainly well worth a closer look, and this is what we will be doing to celebrate World Book Day, with the help of local bookbinding expert Chris Calver.
The talk takes place at 7pm, in the Clore Learning Suite on the ground floor of the Great North Museum: Hancock.
