The Great North Museum offers an exciting alternative in which to hold your event. Whether you are organising a dinner, wedding, conference, meeting or networking event this venue will provide an unforgettable experience! To make a real impact with your clients, why not hire the whole museum?
The ground floor offers a versatile arrangement of spaces for hire including the two education rooms, equipped with interactive whiteboards and full data projection facilities. The larger Clore education suite opens onto a spacious patio with a raised pond and planting, providing an ideal location for summer barbecues or drinks receptions. There is also a café with full data projection facilities which can be utilised as a breakout space or a meeting room. These rooms can be used individually or interlinked to create a large hire space.
On the first floor there is a large space, measuring nearly 500 square metres, which can be utilised for a range of events from dinners and receptions to conferences and training. This space can be partitioned into two separate areas offering great flexibility. When special exhibitions occupy part of this space, why not take the opportunity to visit the exhibition and then enjoy a leisurely dinner?
The first floor café, with views over the landscaped front garden, can also be hired for evening entertaining such as drinks receptions or dinners.
There is also an attractive Council room available for hire on the second floor. Lined with Victorian bookcases and boasting stunning views over the city, it makes a unique setting for smaller meetings.

Say your vows under the watchful eyes of our T Rex, one of the largest creatures to walk the planet, amongst the Ancient Egyptian mummies or against the backdrop of our stunning ‘Bio Wall’.
