Helen Petts - Throw Them Up and Let Them Sing

28 Jun - 18 Aug 12

This digital film installation by artist/film-maker Helen Petts follows Kurt Schwitters' journey to the Lake District via remote island in Norway as he escaped Nazi persecution during the Second World War. Petts' film explores landscape, collage, sound poetry and improvisation and features improvised sounds by leading experimental musicians Phil Minton, Roger Turner, Adam Bohman and Sylvia Hallett.

Throw Them Up and Let Them Sing will be accompanied by Sea Shanties, an earlier work by Helen Petts focusing on the improvisation of Phil Minton and Roger Turner.
