The Laing is currently showing a series of exhibitions as part of the Great British Art Debate, focusing on the work of John Martin. The series includes Turner versus Martin - an exhibition displaying John Martin's painting The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah alongside Hannibal Crossing the Alps by JMW Turner.
