Why Souter is important
"Well, it was one of the places I first came and started making friends when we made the move, so that’s always got to have a significance"
Well, it was one of the places I first came and started making friends when we made the move, so that’s always got to have a significance. It’s important because it’s important for people to realise the implications of history, the way things have changed. It’s important that people realise how much time and effort and energy was given to saving lives from being lost at sea. It’s important because the children that we get, a lot have seen the way people used to live. It’s important most of all, to me, it’s important because of all the nice people we meet.
As I say, that’s not just visitors, it’s the volunteers and staff here as well, so it’s across the board, you meet really nice people. Where else can you go, have a day’s fun. Enjoy yourself and do something that’s, is worthwhile?
