"An adrenaline rush. It’s great, I mean, you don’t, you just run"
An adrenaline rush. It’s great, I mean, you don’t, you just run. You don’t care, you just hear your pager and you’re like, “I’m going,” and that’s you away, you know. But as soon as I hear that noise, it’s like the adrenaline rush in your body, you know. It’s like excitement and what’s going on and what’s wrong. But it’s still, once again, curiosity, everything, you know, running through your head. What to do if this, what to do if that?
I’ve only been out twice. The first time was a boat three miles off which had broken down. With that being the first time there was me and my brother on the boat and it was a bit nerve wracking trying to think of what to do, taking down all the bearings and everything. But once you’ve got the time to think about it, you’re alright, well, I’m alright anyway. I don’t, I can’t say about everyone else, I don’t know about everyone else.
A few weeks ago, my second shout. It was really, really, really dark. It was night time on a Sunday night and obviously when it goes off at that time at night, you think, “oh, it’s got to be someone in the water- it can’t be good.” And as it happens, with it being pitch black, it’s like you don’t know where you are or what you’re doing. Once you get into it, it’s alright. That was the first time I had ever been on the boat in the dark.
