Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade issue clothing
"The brigade will issue the brigadesmen, the new system now is they will be provided with boots"
The brigade will issue the brigadesmen, the new system now is they will be provided with boots, with safety toe caps, they will be provided with a heavy duty boiler suit which has been adapted so you can get it over your boots in a hurry- itís got the usual reflective tape on, itís has TVLB rescue on the back so people know who we are, it also has your name on the front, only has your first name on and also has your call sign, which is Tynemouth with the number you happen to be- I happen to be Tynemouth eight, it has the badge on as well, of TVLB. You will be issued with your little woolly hat, and believe me you will need that into winter, you will be issued with a storm coat which has an inner liner plus an outer, high visibility, the same as the police, excellent, excellent weather protection. You will be given a dress cap, because we will obviously wear them in ceremonial drill. Youíll be given a sweater, a tie, shirt, and even trousers if you havenít got them. Theyíll just about kit you out.
