"Well, I did my initial training at Oswestry for radar operating"
Well, I did my initial training at Oswestry for radar operating and then was transferred to Battersea Park, spent my time there.
I mean- London in those days to a young person was the other end of the world, practically. One had no reason to go. Read about it, saw photographs and things but…I loved it, and I loved London, even though it was well battered by that time, but I liked it very much.
