"No, well, we got leave of course, 10 days every three months but I was never homesick"

No, well, we got leave of course, 10 days every three months but I was never homesick, never homesick, no. Basically, by that time, well, I thought there was really nothing here, you know, it was basically, it might sound a bit harsh, but it was a dead fishing village, and all the young people, I should say about 90% of them, were away from here. So actually when I came on leave I was very fortunate to have met anyone of my own age or anyone that I knew there. So I quite enjoyed my war. I hope that doesn’t sound badly, but I enjoyed it.
