"I mean, in the shipyards, it was red lead"

I mean, in the shipyards, it was red lead. You know, the paint that they use, or used to use, it was red lead. I mean as a child, the, running to meet father coming up the street which was near to the J. L Thompson yard- that’s all you could smell. Red lead paint!
