The importance of the Doxford Walking Club
"Well, everybody seemed to enjoy the walks and they would talk about it for days"
Well, everybody seemed to enjoy the walks and they would talk about it for days, “where are we going next?” and all the rest of it. Yes, I think it was important, because people got away from their everyday, I mean even when you finished work on a Friday night, some people had the same things, they would go down to the town with their wives shopping, spend Saturday shopping. Sunday was invariably working because we were extremely busy at the time, Sunday was a working day. So there was only Saturday we could get away.
