"On a steam tug, the galley, it doesn’t matter what size the galley was, that was the lad's "

On a steam tug, the galley, it doesn’t matter what size the galley was, that was the lad's galley and at first, the first day they would bring their dinners in and say, “right, you know, there’s the potatoes, peel them and you put them in that pie,” you know basic cooking and heating their meals up.

And the main thing is you had to have a kettle boiling 24 hours a day. It had to be there to make a cup of tea, you know just, it was it. If you didn’t you got a clip along the lug.
