"It was a very close knit community, we had, we made some very good friends in there, friends I’m still with today"

It was a very close knit community, we had, we made some very good friends in there, friends I’m still with today, you know all those years, really friends, really close friends. We had social nights out together and everything. We still, as I say, for all we’ve been closed now, 20 year now, we still keep in touch with people, we still get Christmas cards from people and everything but, as I say, I’ve been left 20 years and I’ve got cards even from the management, the management side, which we dealt with on the union side, and, for all you’re on opposite sides you still had a great regard for them, for both, you know, from both sides. I thought the relationships were good, like. I was always, greatly sorry, not for money, from getting employed point of view, but it was a part of your life. When it was closed, it had gone, you felt as if something had been taken away from you.
