Family involvement in fishing
"Both sides, my husband’s and, not, not the last generation, two generations back. And that generation, great great grand parents, you see, were all fishermen "
Both sides, my husband’s and, not, not the last generation, two generations back. And that generation, great great grand parents, you see, were all fishermen then, you see, yes. On both sides- his side and mine.
And his great grandfather was Andrew Taylor, the coxswain of the lifeboat, and you’ll probably have read about him. Well, my husband’s great grand father, yes.
So, you know, so that’s the connection there and I think Beris and Gareth have got that in them somehow and my son, of course, has the fishing in him, I don’t know. It’s come back in the second generation, you see. Nothing in the first generation, but next generation down, but he hasn’t got anybody to follow him- they don’t want to go out fishing, so that’s strange, isn’t it?
