It’s harsh. But once you’re actually out surfing, it’s not too bad. The worse thing is getting changed- putting the wetsuit on and taking the wetsuit off afterwards in the cold weather, freezing cold feet, standing in snow with bare feet.
Interviewer: And how do the conditions compare?
Quite often it’s better in winter - the waves have got a lot more power, usually quite a bit bigger. You can get sort of decent swells in the summer as well.
