Environmental Conditions in the North East
"They’ve improved. There used to be a sewage pipe at the end of the cliff there"
They’ve improved. There used to be a sewage pipe at the end of the cliff there, and they’ve taken that away a few years ago, so that’s improved it dramatically.
If there was a south easterly swell, something like that, it used to bring the effluent from over near the cliffs towards the beach and you could always see at high tide where the end of the pipe was because there would be a flock of seagulls there at the end of it.
I got very ill one time after swallowing a mouthful of water. A couple of days later I was pretty bad.
