"Well, my father went to see and all his brothers and my grandfather went to sea"

Well, my father went to see and all his brothers and my grandfather went to sea. And I think it’s in your blood living beside the sea. The stories they brought back of where they’d been and you just wanted to do these things. It was an adventure. But I think it’s totally changed now, the way of life at sea. Before when we went to sea you went ashore and you enjoyed yourself you seen life and had a look around and seen how other people lived. But now it seems as though you are in and it’s a quick turn around and you are away. I think it’s a harder life now because you never see much of the other countries and meet people. Which is very interesting at times.
