1974, my friend Bill King was at sea and when we were apprentices, he knew that failed my medical to get to sea and he always promised me that one day, he would get me at sea as an engineer. And true enough, that did come true in 1974. He phoned me up and I joined a ship in Canada. And I’ve never forgotten what he did for me because I always wanted to go to sea. And we still keep in touch, and he’s still living in Canada. He’s a friend who I’ll never forget.
