"The sea mean to me? What does the sea mean to me? "

The sea mean to me? What does the sea mean to me? Well, I, with living where I live within 300 yards from the sea, every day it’s different. The way I like the sea is on a December morning- it’s absolutely pouring with rain, the tide’s right in and the waves are splashing up everywhere- that’s what I like- to see, the sea alive like that. But I’m not a very good sailor, so when I go on the ferry, I like it be like a mill pond, you know what I mean. I mean for years I’ve walked along the beach and dodged the waves like you do when you’re a kid or go on the promenade in Whitley Bay and wait for the big waves to splash up and get soaked. The sea means to me- probably, it’s part of my life, you know, it’s just there.
