Call out routine
"Even to this day you still get that initial sort of jump, little burst of adrenaline"
Even to this day you still get that initial sort of jump, little burst of adrenaline, you know, it always seems to catch you out. And basically with me living close I just run down and get down here as quick as I can and try and start thinking about what’s going to be going on and just getting more level-headed, you know than just run round mindlessly or something like that which can happen when you first get it, the first time it goes off obviously, there’s a bit of a panic on.
A mixture of physical and mental- it depends on the sea state at the time. If it’s flat and calm you can be a lot more relaxed. Obviously we struggle getting out of this harbour in rougher weather so it’s all about time and experience. And it can be…there’s a lot to think about besides the actual physical elements.
