"It becomes very second nature. The pager beeps, you just drop everything"
It becomes very second nature. The pager beeps, you just drop everything, you’re on the phone before you know it to find out what the incident is, usually you’re half way to your car by then and you’re off in despatch before bringing around, you know, what’s going on. Everyone you live with and work with just expects it, and when they hear the pager go, just expect you to go, and get used to you running out on them.
