The call out process
"We get called out- we’ve got an initial team on pagers"
We get called out- we’ve got an initial team on pagers, one button pressed from Humber coastguard will activate our pagers, we’ll will then phone up Humber and they’ll despatch us to whatever incident we need to attend.
Currently this year we’re on about 100 call outs, which is about our average for the year, but again it can happen any time, you can get nothing for a couple of weeks and then you can have days where you don’t get any rest, you’re up two or three times a day, out during the night, you don’t get any peace for a week.
I’ve probably attended about 90% of all the call outs.
