"More than I think I realise, I don’t think I could ever live anywhere else without a sea, without an active sea"

More than I think I realise, I don’t think I could ever live anywhere else without a sea, without an active sea. It’s a double edge sword- on one hand it’s given me most of the pleasure in my life, but on the other it’s a bit of a prison as well, it’s a bit of a kind of, because I can’t, I can’t escape it. I mean, I’ve been all around the world doing the world circuit and I seem to have just hugged the coastline. And I’ve been to Australia seven times or eight times, I’ve never been to Ayers Rock, for example, just because there could have been a good swell, or…it does bind you, it’s something that’s, there’s sort of an invisible line where you say ten miles inland, and you kind of start forgetting it.
