Lindsay
Allason-Jones is the Museum Director, she has many assistants
including a Secretary and a Technician.
Lindsay is a very busy person and she works on many special projects to make
people come to the Museum more often.
Lindsays described her best and worst moments in the Museum. Her best moments
in the Museum are looking at new finds, and her worst are when she has to prepare
the budgets.
She says, "being in charge of the Museum is a very hard job because you
are responsible for everything from money to seeing all the jobs are done properly."

Artefact
Lindsay chose this antler hoe from South Shields, Tyne
and Wear. It isn't the most exciting looking object in the Museum
but she thinks it's interesting because it looks like a tool for
gardening rather than farming. She likes the idea that someone
in Roman times was creating a garden. Romans enjoyed growing flowers
as well as vegetables and used their gardens as an extra room to
entertain guests in nice weather. |
