This site was initially created as part of the RETICULUM PROJECT, a partnership between the Museum of Antiquities, based at The University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and the First Schools of Northumberland.
Through the use of information technology and the resources of the Museum, we have developed learning resources that focus on life in northern England during the Roman period. These are aimed primarily at children in Key Stage 2 (age 7-11) but the emphasis on accuracy of information as well as the informal style is designed to appeal to a wider audience. This site is a reflection of the work of the children who took part in the Project.Teachers Pack

‘This Way to the Northern Frontier: Tribes and Romans in Northern Britain’ is an accompanying pack for teachers.
It contains teaching modules complete with activity ideas, resource sheets and support materials. A copy of the complete full-colour printed pack, which includes a CD ROM version of the website, is available from the Museum of Antiquities, priced £25.00. Alternatively see below to access the on-line version of the pack.
