Boudicca had long red-gold hair down to her hips. She also had
a spear in her hand. She wore a tunic with lots of colours on and
a thick cloak. She was very tall and wore the same clothes every day.
In AD 60 Boudicca’s husband died. His name was Prasutagus. After her husband had died, she and her two daughters got beaten up by the Romans. She was really annoyed so she gathered a large army and took them to Londinium to battle. They killed 70,000 Romans and started a great fire. The rest of the Romans made the Iceni tribe into slaves, apart from Boudicca who escaped. She was furious, so she killed herself by drinking poison to stop the Romans from getting her.

Roman Author by Micheal LovattBoudicca was a British woman of the Iceni royal family and was cleverer than most women. She assembled her army of as many as 120,000, and climbed to the top of a mound to address her people. In height she was very tall, her appearance was terrifying, the look in her eye was very fierce, and her voice was hard; a great mass of red-gold hair fell to her hips; around her neck was a large golden necklace; and she wore a tunic of many colours over which a thick cloak was done up with a brooch. These were the clothes that she always wore. Now she held a spear to help her frighten all those who saw her. (Dio Cassius)

Children drew these portraits of Boudicca after they had read this description by Dio Cassius. Why don't you have a go?
