Settlement by South Beach First School
1) Colour in the template. Think carefully about the building you're making before you colour the template in. Are the walls made of wattle and daub or are they made of stone? Is the roof thatched with straw or bracken or heather? Don't forget to colour the roof of the porch the same colour as the roof of the house!
2) Glue the whole template onto a piece of card and leave it to dry.
3) Cut out the roof, porch and walls of the house along the solid lines.
4) Glue tab A behind B to make a circle. Cut along the solid line of the door and open it outwards.
5) Take the roof and cut along the solid line. Put a little glue along edge C and glue it behind D to make a cone. Check that it fits on the walls first!
6) Take the porch and fold inward along the dashed lines. Put glue on the tabs and stick it around the outside of the door.
7) Glue the finished roundhouse onto the second piece of card. You could draw a path to the door or maybe a garden with vegetables growing!
Hints and Tips
Use a paper clip to hold edges together while they dry.
Why not make several houses and put them together in a 'settlement'.
You could make a palisade out of corrugated card.
