Maximus the Centurion

Maximus will be at Segedunum in the full costume of a Roman centurion from the 2nd century, giving a special presentation on life in the Roman Army. Children will be able to dress up as soldiers, enlist in the Roman army and learn drill and battle tactics from Roman times.
Maximus, or Marcus Aufidus Maximus, is based on a real officer in the VI legion, one of the great Roman legions that took part in the conquest of Britain and built large sections of Hadrian’s Wall.
