An exclusive free event as part of Illuminating the Wall

Join Segedunum Roman Fort to launch the Line of Light along Hadrian’s Wall, as the full length is illuminated for the first time in 1600 years!
At 5.15pm, angels will descend upon Segedunum as the skies grow dark. Part of a spectacular theatrical event by Berlin based Theatre Anu, the angels will prepare to light the first of approximately 500 lights, stretching from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. The first light will be lit at 5.45pm, with posts lighting up in turn approximately every 250 metres over the course of an hour. The event will close at Segedunum with fireworks at around 6pm.
This is a stunning free event, and no booking is necessary. There will be no car parking available at Segedunum Roman Fort on the evening, but Segedunum is only a three minute walk away from Wallsend Metro and Bus Station.
