Family Art and Craft Workshops
These exciting workshops take place every Thursday in school holidays. Children can explore some of the art and craft in the Gallery and join in with a hands-on activities. Suitable for children aged 5+ and their carers.
Tickets are £2 per session and are available on the day (max. 4 tickets per adult). Please note workshop places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first served basis. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Big Beads, Little Beads
Thursday 26 July
10am – 12noon and 1-3pm
Join in with making, threading and beading inspired by the South African beadwork currently on display. All materials provided. Suitable for ages 12 - 7. £2 per child.
African Style
Tuesday 2 August
10am – 12noon and 1-3pm
South African themed printing day. Make collars and accessories inspired by the South African costumes in the Journeys in Beadwork exhibitions.
Portraits: Fabric Faces
Thursday 9 August
10am – 12noon and 1-3pm
Make a collage portrait banner in felt and fabric or a sock puppets based on your family or pet.
Bring along an old clean sock and characterise it with our bits and bobs.
The Penguin Donkey Day
Thursday 16 August
10am – 12noon and 1-3pm
Make book covers for your favourite books. Play Pin the tail on the Donkey for prizes and make your own Pin the tail on the Donkey game.
Trophies and Medallions
Thursday 23 August
10am – 12noon and 1-3pm
Design and make your own medals and trophies and other sport themed awards
Chairs for Bears
Thursday 30 August
10am – 12noon and 1-3pm
Bring a teddy to a day of design and construction activities for all ages and abilities, inspired by the new chairs in the Shipley’s design collection.
