A new exhibition showcasing highlights from the Shipley’s 19th and 20th century British watercolour and drawing collection. 

Works include landscapes (featuring many well-known local scenes), portraits and still lifes by local and national artists including William Henry Hunt, Sir Hubert von Herkomer, George Horton and Norman Cornish.

These flags by young artists from Corpus Christi, Gateshead will be on display for the opening of #actsofmaking on Sat 7 March. Come along to see them and celebrate the opening of the festival. Richard William Weater's flags and scooter arrive at approximately 2pm not to be missed!

See a processions of Vespa and Lambretta scooters this Saturday, each will carry a flag which when viewed in formation create an image of a tree. Starting at Trinity Square at 1pm, via Saltwell Park and arriving at the Shipley at 2pm. Part of the #ActsofMaking festival with Crafts Council UK
