Dark Fiction with Amy MacKelden
Wednesday 8 August 11am - 3.30pm

An opportunity to unleash your dark side! Whether you're interested in horror, dystopias,
vampires or ghouls, this is a chance to start writing your own freaky fiction. A must for all
fans of Twilight, Hunger Games and Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking trilogy.

Write your own script with Carina Rodney
Thursday 9 August 11am - 3.30pm

Have you ever watched the TV or gone to the cinema and come away thinking that you
could have done a better job? Well, here's your chance to give it a go. This workshop is a
chance to start working on developing characters and a plot for your very own script for
theatre or screen.

Comic book writing with Daniel Clifford
Friday 10 August 11am - 3.30pm

Do you want to create the next Avengers, Dennis the Menace or Death Note? Writing for
Comics and Graphic Novels is the perfect first step in your journey to creating a class comic
book. You’ll learn about character, how to develop and pitch a story and how to write a
comic book script - as well as a whole load of other fantastic tips.

Sessions are open to anyone aged 11-18 years old.

Participants can sign up for one, two or all three sessions. To register, please email your

Sessions are for a maximum of 15 people. In the case of oversubscription, priority will be
given to residents of South Shields.
