South Shields Museum & Art Gallery

This exhibition will celebrate South Tyneside's sporting heroes be it at grass roots level or on the international stage. Drawing on a range of objects, images and memorabilia, many of the achievements by sportsmen and women in the area will be recognised, including that of Shieldsman Tommy payne, world walking champion in 1909.
