Stephenson Railway Museum

Explore the Museum's locomotive exhibits, from steam to metro. Investigate the development of electricity over the 20th century, discover the wildlife beside the railway tracks and learn why train wheels are the shape they are. Displays chart the history of transport on Tyneside in the 1900s and include a newly restored electric engine from 1909.
