Kath Price and the mat-making volunteers have been busy in the textile traditions gallery this afternoon, making a community rug as part of the The Traces Of Wearmouth Project designed by Ian Potts.

The next textile demonstration is on 14 May with the Knitting and Crochet Guild from 1 - 3pm.

Tickets are now on sale for the War Games Family Night on Saturday 17 May, part of the UK wide 'Night of Museums' weekend.

The evening event from 6 - 8.30pm includes War Horse themed activities in partnership with the Sunderland Empire, hands-on World War One activities (including dress up and drill) with the Time Bandits and a chance to view the new War Games exhibition from the V & A in London.

Tickets are on sale now in the museum shop at £5 per head for adults and children (suitable for children 5 and over). There is limited availability so pop in and book yours now to avoid disappointment!
