The John Martin Circle
John Martin (1789 to 1854) is the North East’s most important and best known artist. In 2011 a major exhibition of his opened at the Laing Art Gallery and we needed your help to secure several important loans from Europe and the United States.
Although this campaign has ended, we need your continuous support for the Laing's exhibition programme in the future.
Make Your Mark
In 2010, South Shields Museum & Art Gallery celebrated its 150th year. 
Join us for a year long celebration featuring some exciting new exhibitions and events as well as the return of some old favourites.
