A Fresh Approach to Connecting through Culture
Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums’ business membership scheme, Connecting through Culture, is set to be re-launched this autumn, following an extensive review of the programme which will take place over the coming months.
Connecting through Culture was first established in 1991, making this year its 20th anniversary, and launched in its current format in 2007. Since 2007, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums has undergone significant transformation, not least as a result of the merger between Tyne & Wear Museums and Tyne and Wear Archives in 2009.
Leadership of our services has also changed with the appointment of Iain Watson as Director following Alec Coles’ departure in 2010. Meanwhile, the formation of the Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums’ Development Trust in 2010 has created new opportunities for fundraising.
The business community in the North East has not stood still either, with developments over the last four years also ushering in new challenges and opportunities for local companies.
A review and re-launch of Connecting through Culture is therefore timely to take stock of these changes and make the most of the new resources and opportunities that this presents over the coming years.
Stef Anderson, Development Officer, will be in contact with all Business Partners over the next few months to seek their thoughts on the review.
