Our public searchroom is located on the ground floor of the Discovery Museum in Newcastle, where you are welcome to visit and do your own research. For further information about visting us, click here.

If you are not able to visit, you might wish to use our paid research service.

We also offer a copying service. This is more suitable than paid research if you just want copies from microfilm and already have some details (e.g. date and place of event). You can also order copies of most original documents in our collections.

Our outreach officer works with schools, colleges, adult learners and other community groups.

Our specialist conservation team care for the documents in our collections. They can also advise you on how to look after your own records.

We offer a records management service for local authorities and private organisations.
