Arbeia Roman Fort is a ten minute walk from South Shields Metro and Bus Station. The Fort is signposted from Ocean Road.

By Car
Arbeia Roman Fort is situated on Baring Street, in South Shields. There is a free car park and coach parking nearby.
The nearest drop-off point by taxi, dial-a-ride or car is at the main gates to the museum. Coaches can also drop off at the main gates to the museum. There are two coach bays marked out on Baring Street.
